A Casual Stroll Through LOTRO

In an effort to help bring attention to the work of the World Design team on Lord of the Rings Online, I began conducting monthly behind the scenes tours of all of the regions in the game. This series of streams has multiple purposes:

An opportunity to engage directly with the players in a live environment – answering questions that many of them have about the game and the IP.
A preview platform featuring new regions as they are nearing completion of development.
A means to show the community at large the human side of game development.

After nearly 4 years of monthly streams, I have toured through the entirety of the existing game with our players. Future streams will continue to act as a preview space for updates and expansions, but I will also be pivoting my regular monthly streams to be focused more on themes than specific regions.

We Have A Cave Troll

Second in my series of streams, and a new addition compared to the Casual Stroll Streams, I collaborate with LOTRO’s Lead Designer (Allan Maki/Orion) to produce a series of Q&A/Conversational Streams in which we talk about whatever random topics are fueling our interests. While we try to keep our topics themed around LOTRO, we are not shy about talking about games we enjoy, and where we find inspiration for our work outside of LOTRO and the Lord of the Rings IP itself.
